Obituary
James J. Coburn, lovingly known as “Jimmy John,” passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the age of 66, at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.
Born in Philadelphia, Jimmy was a proud lifelong resident of Bensalem. He attended Bensalem High School and went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps—an experience he carried with pride throughout his life.
Jimmy worked for many years as a subcontractor, highly respected for his strong work ethic and steady presence. Outside of work, he enjoyed the simple things in life. He had a deep love for the outdoors and was never happier than when he was up the mountains, fishing the streams or hunting in the woods—places where he shared many good times and made lasting memories. The mountains were his favorite escape, offering a break from everyday life and a true connection to nature.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary (Hussmann) Miller, and stepfather, Kenneth Miller; his brother, Robert Coburn; sisters Penny Ann (Coburn) Daly and Patricia Ann (Coburn) Taffe; and his niece, Sandra Daly.
Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife, Franqui (Holt) Coburn, who was his steady companion and best friend. He is also lovingly remembered by his two nieces, Colleen (Daly) Keefer and Stefani Holt, who held a special place in his heart. He leaves behind his brother-in-law Robert Holt and wife Nancy, his sister-in-law Joann Holt, his cousin Robert Parker, as well as many other cousins, nieces, and nephews who cherished him deeply. His passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of many extended family members and dear friends.
Jimmy’s life will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the James O. Bradley Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Bellevue Ave., Penndel, PA 19047. Family and friends are invited to gather from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with a time of shared memories and reflections beginning at 7:00 PM. Additional parking is available at Our Lady of Grace Church, across from the funeral home.
Jimmy John will be remembered for his bold spirit, quick wit, and the unmistakable voice that always let you know he was in the room. He was outspoken, full of personality, and never shy about sharing what was on his mind—but beneath that loud presence was a big heart. He was loyal, generous, and always ready to step up and help those who needed him. His presence will be deeply missed and his memory cherished forever.
