Obituary for Charles Gary Sr.

Charles Lorenzo Gary AKA CHUCK D AKA BLACK was born June 8, 1966 at Lower Bucks Hospital in Bristol, PA to the late, great Willie Gary and Grace Lee Jackson. He passed away on January 4, 2023 in Philadelphia, PA. He was one of 11 children. Charles attended the Bensalem School District where he graduated from Bensalem High School in 1984. Soon after that he began his career in construction work at ABC Construction, where he worked until he passed away.

Charles is finally at his resting place in heaven. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Grace; a daughter, Grace; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth and Juanita; and three brothers, Willie James, Olie and Eric.

Charles was a lifetime cowboy fan. He was loved by many people, anyone that came his way. Charles was a provider, a protector and he enjoyed hanging out with his family and friends. He enjoyed playing the Pennsylvania scratch-offs and he would hit the majority of the time.

Charles is survived by his son, Charles, Jr. of Philadelphia, PA; a significant other, Danyel of Croydon, PA; one sister, Roberta (William) of Philadelphia, PA; four brothers, Joseph of Croydon, PA, Anthony of Millville, NJ, Nathaniel of Jacksonville, FL and Brandon of Trenton, NJ; four aunts, Barbara of Jacksonville, FL, Mary of Florida, Janie of Philadelphia, PA and Dorethea of Cedarville, NJ; his best friend William of Croydon, PA; a host of cousins, nieces and nephews; and an abundance of family and friends, who truly love him and will cherish his memory.

Family and friends are welcome to his visitation on Friday, January 20, 2023, from 9:30 to 11:00am at St. Anselm Church, 12670 Dunks Ferry Road in Philadelphia, PA followed by his Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at White Chapel Memorial Park, 140 West Street Road in Feasterville, PA.
