Micheal Monaghan - Class Of 1984

Micheal Monaghan

Trevose, PA -- Michael Anthony Monaghan passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Feb. 3. Michael, 57, died shortly after engaging in one of his passions -- a round of golf. Michael was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend, who often put the needs of others before his own. He was a long-time shipping supervisor for Veolia, a worldwide water technologies and solutions organization. Michael is survived by his mother Ella Monaghan; his brothers and their wives, Joseph and Brigit, William and Victoria, and Richard and Natali; his nephews, Dylan (and his wife Sophie), Harry, Kaleob, and Kollin; and his niece Kathryn. He was predeceased in death by his father, Hugh, and nephew Joseph. Michael graduated in 1984 from Bensalem Senior High School, where he played on the soccer team. Despite nagging knee issues, Micheal played softball for many years before turning more avidly to golf. He enjoyed the music of Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel. He also would do setup work for large events including the World Series parade for the Phillies and the Super Bowl parade for the Eagles -- his favorite sports teams. He also did the same work for professional races, which allowed him to see much of the country. A memorial service will be held on Friday, Feb. 9 from 10-11 a.m. at the Faust Funeral Home, 902 Bellevue Ave., Hulmeville, PA 19047. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations dedicated in Michael's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or www.stjude.org/donate or by calling 1 (800) 805-5856.
