Mark A. Howie

Mark Allen Howie, age 38, passed away peacefully on Feb. 28, 2013 at Thomas Jefferson Medical Center in Philadelphia with his family by his side.

Born in Bristol, and raised in Bensalem on his family’s horse farm, he later moved to Morrisville to raise his family. He was a graduate of Bensalem High School and later attended Computer Learning Center where he received his certification as a computer programmer. He was employed by Sykes Enterprises in the Newtown Branch. Mark was a 1st Degree black belt in Karate and had been an assistant instructor at Action Karate Newtown. He was also involved with the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Fairless Hills and was a survivor of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

Mark was loved by all who had the pleasure of meeting him. He enjoyed the time playing video games with his children and was proud of their accomplishments, but most of all he loved the time that he spent with his wife, kids, and family.

He was preceded in death, recently, by his mother Mary (nee: Clark) Howie. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Dana (nee: Boerner); his devoted children Scott Boerner, Eryk, Tyler and Alyssa Howie. He is the beloved son of George Howie; son-in-law of Delores Boerner; and brother of Kim Howie-Garwood and George Jr. He is also survived by many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, cousins, and good friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Tues., 6pm-9pm, and Wed., 9:30-11am, at Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol Oxford Valley Rd., Levittown. Religious services will begin 11am in the funeral home. Interment is private. In keeping with Mark’s love of his family, a trust has been established by his wife at Fairless Credit Union, 521 S. Oxford Valley Rd., Fairless Hills, PA 19030 c/o “Howie Children.
