ELI'S OBITUARY

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eli Shane Lipa who died just after his 40th birthday on March 3rd, 2023. He had a long and difficult struggle with drug addiction and depression, and ultimately lost his battle when he ended his life.

Eli was born on February 15th, 1983 and grew up in Bensalem. He was a beloved son, brother, and friend who had a kind heart and laughed easily. The family has always joked that if Eli had chosen a different path, he could have been a pharmacist. Eli loved music and movies, Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, animals, concerts, good food, and his family and friends. He was there for anyone who asked for his help.

His passing has left a deep void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Eli is survived by his mom who was there for him through all of it, Mona Lipa Bokeko (Ronald) of Bristol, PA, his sisters Heidi LoStracco of Yardley, PA, Sierra Lipa of Secane, PA, and Samantha Dey (Nicole) of Ewing, NJ who loved him so much…and annoyed him sometimes, as sisters do. He is predeceased by his little brother, Brandon Peranteau who passed away in 2007 at the age of 21. Eli also leaves two nephews, Jarrod LoStracco of Yardley and Joseph Rogers of Croydon and a niece, Emma LoStracco of Yardley who he would often watch with amusement and wonder. Eli is survived by his brother-in-law, Albert LoStracco of Bensalem, his aunts and uncles, Patricia (Thomas) Micklas and Maryann (Douglas) Hawryliak Bolinger, his cousins, friends, and his stepfather for many years, William Peranteau of Fairless Hills.Because of Amanda Carden Lipa, Eli got to experience love and marriage, have a good job, beautiful home, two dogs (Kai and Lily), and cats that he adored, Luna, Puck, and Spud, who predeceased him and Phinney, who was with him until the end. Amanda will always be the last woman he ever loved.

Though his life was cut short, we will always remember Eli for his kind heart, quiet intelligence, handsome smile, and the joy he brought into our lives. In lieu of flowers, reach out to someone you love and make them feel less alone.

Rest in peace, Eli. You will be forever missed and remembered by those who love you and those whose lives you touched.

Family and friends are invited to Eli’s Life Celebration on Thursday, March 16, 2023, from 11 AM – 12 PM, followed by his Memorial Service at 12 PM, at the Beck-Givnish Life Celebration Home, 7400 New Falls Rd., Levittown, PA 19055.
