OBITUARY

Ed (Dinky) Nelson

November 20, 1966 – February 4, 2025

Ed "Dinky" Nelson, a longtime resident of Bensalem, PA, passed away surrounded by his loved ones in Middletown, NY. He was 58 years old. Ed was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He left behind an incredible legacy that will live on through the countless memories he created and the relationships he built.

Dinky was the son of Joe and Eileen Dellmyer. He was born in Philadelphia, PA and was a graduate of Bensalem High School. After high school, he dedicated many years of his life to working at Fairborn Equipment as a dock technician, traveling throughout the Philadelphia metro area, and making lifelong friends along the way.

Dinky loved life and was known for his big heart, his kindness, and his ability to make friends wherever he went. He had a special bond with his grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them. His family was his world, and he took great pride in being involved in their lives. Whether it was watching his grandson Tyler play football, spending time with his children, or cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles, Dinky’s presence was always filled with warmth and joy.

Dinky is survived by his wife Chantell; his children: Shauna Bilko, Thomas Nelson, Samantha and Taylor Mueller; his 10 grandchildren: Tyler, Chase, Mikey, River, Sage, Brian, Adrianna, Grayson, Lucas, and Julien; his mother Eileen Dellmyer (nee Hart); his siblings Charles and Michelle Nelson; his nephew Gary Carpowich with whom he was very close to; his almost son-in-law Mike Titano; Tim Monte, who was like a son to Dinky; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Joe Dellmyer.

A celebration of life for Ed will be held Monday, February 10, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd, Levittown, Pennsylvania 19056, when an open floor service beginning at 6:00 PM.

Dinky’s spirit and love for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
