James C. Clayton Jr. Obituary

James C. Clayton Jr., of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on April 30th, 2026 at the age of 66. He was born on June 22nd, 1959 to James Curtis Clayton Sr. and Claire Lenore Gillies. He is survived by his two sisters, Theresa and Kathleen Clayton, 3 nephews, 4 nieces, his brother-in-law Stephen J. McMonagle and Michael Lawrence.

He attended St. Veronica's Catholic School and later Bensalem High School. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1977 and served in Norfolk, VA aboard the U.S.S. Nimitz.

James found renewed faith when he found Life or Death and through his strength and faith in God and the support of AA, he became sober and remained sober for 28 years.

He loved classic rock and enjoyed a love/hate relationship with his hometown sports teams.
