Douglas Ernest Leaman Obituary

Douglas Ernest Leaman Sr, age 62, passed away on October 4, 2026. Born on June 16, 1964 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Doug lived a life defined by dedication to family, a strong work ethic, exceptional craftsmanship, and a spirit that could never be confined by the expectations of others.

Doug grew up in Bensalem, Pennsylvania surrounded by a close-knit family, he enjoyed spending time with loved ones, tinkering with anything that had an engine, and spending time in nature, whether it was camping or simply setting off to explore the unknown. He had a natural curiosity and a love for figuring out how things worked, a quality that carried into both his work and his everyday life.

Doug built his career around his passion and talent for automobiles. He founded Auto Kosmetics in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, off Lincoln Highway, where he developed his skills in automotive bodywork and detailing. He later spent many years working at McCafferty, where he continued to put his knowledge, dedication, and craftsmanship to use. Doug was exceptionally talented with his hands and took tremendous pride in his work, especially when it came to restoring antique cars. He had a gift for bringing old vehicles back to life, seeing potential in things others might overlook and taking pride in every detail.

Doug lived life on his own terms. He never felt the need to follow anyone's rules or let the opinions of others dictate his choices. He was a true free spirit who followed his own path, pursued his ambitions, and believed in living life according to his own rules. Independent, determined, and unapologetically himself, Doug left an impression on those who knew him simply by being who he was.

Above all else, Doug’s world revolved around his two children, Emily and Douglas. His devotion to them was unwavering and immense, they were the greatest source of pride in his life, and he was exceptionally proud of his son’s military service. No matter where life took him, his children held a special place in his heart. His love for them was an essential part of who he was and will remain a lasting part of his legacy.

Doug was preceded in death by his father, William Leaman. Doug is survived by his children, Emily and Douglas, his mother; Diana Leaman, his siblings, Jody Delia, William Leaman (Donna), Lisa Maurer (Ernie), and Matthew Leaman; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish his memory.
