Martha Boone

Martha Boone of Trevose, PA passed away Saturday April 9, 2022 at Woodbourne Place, Levittown, PA at the age of 90.

She was the 5th child of 14 born to Rev. Poke and Susie Munford July 6, 1931 in Langhorne (now Trevose) PA. She graduated from Bensalem School District in 1948. Her religious upbringing began in Linconia Tabernacle where her father sometimes delivered the sermons. Later, she joined St. Paul AME Zion Church in Trenton, NJ serving on the stewardess board. In the mid 70s, she joined St. Matthew UM Church in Trevose. 

Some of her teen years were spent in Nantucket working with her auntie. After marrying, she worked at Amsco in Penndel, PA. While there, she gave birth to her daughter Denise, who was the first baby to be born to an employee earning the name "the Amsco Baby". Afterwards, she worked at the Mint in Philadelphia and then the IRS until her retirement in 1981.Martha enjoyed traveling, crocheting and cooking these were just a few of the things she loved. She traveled to Okinawa and to California to visit her sons who were in the Air Force.  She also loved her hats! She married William (Speed) Boone in 1952 and to this union 3 children were born.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her 6 brothers; her 4 sisters and all the spouses of her 3 children, and her ex-husband. Martha is survived by her 3 children.  Denise of Trevose, William Jr, of Florida, and Stephen, of California; her grandchildren Seth, Tammy, Victoria, Phillip and Selenia; her great grandchildren James, Maleah, Alana, Bryce and Tristan; her brother, John; her two sisters, Louise and Sarah and her beloved cat Kalli.

Martha will be laid to rest on Friday April 22, 2022 in Rosedale Memorial Park 3850 Richlieu Rd, Bensalem, PA 19020.
