Edward Conway - Class Of 1963

Edward Conway

Edward J. Conway, Jr. died on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.  He was 68.

Born in Philadelphia, Ed was raised in Newportville Heights, PA, and was a graduate of Bensalem High School class of 1963.  He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Parish, Penndel.

He was a resident of Langhorne Manor for 22 years and served on the planning commission for a number of years. 

Until his retirement in 1989, Ed was the owner of Penn Jersey Stores on Lafyette Street in  Conshochocken and Red Lion Road in Philadelphia. 

He served in the US Army with the 92nd Engineer BN from 1965-67, in Long Bien, Bien Wah Vietnam and was a former member of the United States Power Squadron.

Ed was a present member of American Legion Post #960 of Levittown, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1597 of Croydon, Delaware Valley Vietnam Veterans, Fraternal Order of Moose Lodge 1169 in Bristol.

He was also a member of Saint Anns Athletic Association in Bristol.  He spent his time helping at the Delaware Valley Veterans Home.

Ed was an avid golfer, boater, and fisherman.  He loved the sea.

Loving son of the late Ann (Poserina) and Edward J. Conway, Sr., Ed is survived by his sister Ann Conway-Konzelman (Robert J. Sr.) of Langhorne.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, May 9, 2014, from 7:00 until 9:00 pm and on Saturday, May 10, 2014, from 8:30 until 9:30 at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown.  His funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 10 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Grace Church, followed by the Rite of Committal in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the woundedwarriorproject.org.

Irene Mattiacci (Sullivan) (1964)

So sorry to hear the news.I think about you often.You were my boyfriend in 11th grade and we went to prom together.We met again in 1993 and started to go out. We were two different people by then but you will always

be in my special memory file Ed .Rest easy and know we all will be together again in the great here after.
